A WELCOME NOTE

A warm welcome to my humble weblog I tried to put together after weeks of sleepless nights to ensure perfection. With the vast availability of the internet, I am now able to share my treasured collection with others. I tried my best to ensure simplicity for easy navigation but I'd like to apologise for not being able to sort my listings properly. Blogspot does not have archiving features thus leaving all my posts  cluttered together. Unless I opt for a "paid for" web hosting, this problem will unfortunately remain.

I am neither born noble nor rich but an ordinary full time student with a huge appetite for coin and medal collecting. It is right to consider myself lucky to have encountered with the opportunity to purchase some coins at relatively low prices and friends who are willing to exchange some with me. Also, many thanks to my parents who kept their small change with them when coming back from abroad. The passion drives me scouring the entire country to find the kind of quality coins that make a collection envied by many. My collection is not massive nor large. Just a small and average one with a few good pieces. The main aim is to share my interests with more people from all around the globe. This collection has taken me a little more than 13 years to build to date and is expending to the extent where my knowledge and funding permits.

I have interest for both old and new quality coins from all around the world. I could not afford ancient coins as yet and I have insufficient knowledge to identify and determine their authenticity. My collection will range from easily identifiable milled coins to a few hammered silver coins. They are available for viewings at The Collection page. My mouth is always wide agape at those stunning gold British sovereigns and Austrian Ducats.

Coin collecting is dying off. Lesser and lesser people are collecting them and many of the current generation does not seem to appreciate or have interest in collecting them simply because it is thought to be a fancy of frumpy old men. I am setting up this weblog to prove this teenage taboo wrong and that coin collecting can be fun. The increase in electronic transactions also reduced the importance and significance of the coins in circulation, threatening and marking a possible end to this hobby. It can be reckoned that monetary units will worth a fortune to all collectors when they cease to be used one day.

Every piece of coin is priceless to all collectors. I am a true hobbyist but I will state in the descriptions the possible value that might attach to the coins so as to give an idea to new collectors of how much the coins are worth and not get scammed by unethical sellers out there. I will also try to spare a page or two to share some tips on how to identify forgeries and also a little on coin grading.

Those who desire to exchange some coins with me or donate to my collection are definitely welcomed! Drop me a simple email if you’re interested. My contact information can be found at the Contact Me tab above.
